Rated 4 out of 5 by If u gave it a bad review....learn to paint Product is great! We paint up to 3 apartments in a day and this roller is awesome. If you get build up inside try putting paint on the cover and not the roller. We use primarily purdy covers and have yet to experience slippage. Other covers can fit tight and if you have to pound it on maybe use your backup roller. I see nothing wrong with the design and cleanup is a snap. Great job purdy keep it up! August 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sleeves slide off and grey sludge ruins finish I bought this at the Painting & decorating show last year 2013 and have been disappointed with it. I bought into the clip on Purdy cages and have been let down since day one. I thought they must have made improvements so decided to get the latest cage but they have gone backwards! The attachment on the pole is also slightly smaller and makes it difficult to use the old cages. They do fit but it's a tight fit.I am now looking for alternatives to Purdy sadly, unless there is a major overhaul and they come up with a cage worthy of our hard earned cash. July 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Soooo disappointed Covers ..no matter who makes them do NOT stay on. Used only twice (in this case 3 is not a charm).. Both projects took me twice as long as they should have. June 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cage less or gut less Poor design the sleeves slip off constant, lossed work due to this rubbish had to buy cheap wickes roller in the end, no refund or appologise as of yet June 13, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This product is a waste of money. The roller cover slips off the frame. After loading up the paint and applying it, the cover slips about 1/4" to 1/2". This results in having to tap the cover back on or it won't fit in the tray. This happens every time I load the cover with paint. The cageless frame may look like a good idea, but I am convinced it was never tested prior to releasing for sale. I thought Purdy products were supposed to be some of the best, but this cageless frame is "Purdy" awful. Needles to say, putting out a relatively uncomplicated product that is this poor in function reflects poorly on the Purdy reputation May 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by almost there This roller cover frame is nearly perfect. The handle fits well and after using all day does not wear on your hand. The problems are some roller covers will slip about a 1/8 inch off of the end while painting. The other problem is build up of water/junk inside roller frame. This however can be fixed by cleaning when changing roller covers and lightly taping frame with the arm of cage down and the water will come out no problem and you are ready to go again. I found the Purdy White Dove roller covers did not slip off like others. April 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Beyond Poor I bought two cageless frames and two Goliath sleeves as I am a fan of Purdy brushes and was impressed by the innovative design. Alas, looks are not everything and this product proves to be unfit for purpose. Firstly the sleeves work their way off the arm whilst rolling and you are constantly pushing them back into place. If another brand of sleeve is used, it will stay in position but proves impossible to remove. Secondly, a black oily sludge works its way out of the cone of the arm at the cheap metal washer end and this gets in the knap of the sleeve and then leaves black flecks on the surface being rolled. Lastly the metal prongs at the end of the handle, used in conjunction with the quick release attachment that screws onto the Purdy extension pole have broken off. They snapped off in varying numbers until none remained, making the quick release system useless. A big thumbs down for this product. March 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Won't roll I used this one time next time I went to use it it wouldn't roll, soaked in in mineral spirits for 3 days and I spent wasted $$ on new roller covers, now in the trash it goes March 14, 2014
