Rated 1 out of 5 by Good Idea - Bad in Practice This looks like it will be easier to clean than the caged frames. Problems arose when the roller covers would NOT stay on. After washing the frame, water continued to leak out. This was was not an inexpensive item and I am very sorry that I purchased it. February 12, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Briefly exceptional before disappointment I am a fan of Purdy products, owning over fifteen Pro-Extra and Chinex brushes that I use for my occasional painting business. I purchased the 9" cageless roller frame about a year ago and only used it once, with great success. In 01/2015, I began a new job and purchased a mini roller frame to see if it would help me work faster. After priming, both Purdy roller frames began seeping old paint/water from where the metal attaches to the yellow roller tube. Not a big deal, I thought, I'll wash and hang differently. While applying the first topcoat, a greyish liquid started showing up on the walls and in my bucket from the same leaky point. This isn't paint, it must be the substance used to lubricate the roller and bearings inside.Fortunately, I noticed this discoloration in time to backroll and remove it. However, I can no longer trust these products because of the threat they pose to my finished product. Despite this, the roller itself has never come loose from the yellow tube as others have mentioned. February 3, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Good idea bad design The roller new works great it puts paint on smooth and has no issue but when you go to wash the roll frame out it seeps water and paint inside. The frame can not come apart to clean inside the cage so when you go to the next project the old color comes out on the newly painted surface. No matter how much you try to get it clean there is no way without the cage being disassembled which this one does not. January 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by works smooth, rigid frame, easy to clean and good handle BUT two different brands of covers quickly work their way off. required constantattention now to lose the cover. it did come completely off one time with lady customer watching. she must think it's my first day.. like your brushes but I'm going back to my cheaper frames. Rated 1 out of 5 by Wasted money Upon first seeing this tool I thought great, easy to clean. Not true, it leaks lubricant and previous paint liquids takes forever to rinse clean. January 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by disappointed no matter how much you wash it old paint water seeps out the side December 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT BUY!!!!! I am a painting contractor and use primarily purdy products. The cage less roller works fine but the grey sludge that seeps out of the roller ruins the paint job. I've tried numerous steps in trying not to over saturate the roller but with no success. DO NOT BUY is the only recommendation that I can give. December 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Must let dry for a week When you clean this cage like most people do when finished with the job, water will get into the plastic and if not fully dried out it will leak a silvery liquid (I assume it is lubricant) causing quite a mess. Basically can use this once a week. Don't bother with this product...more hassle than its worth October 7, 2014
