Hi, I have an old (fifties, I think) flourescent lamp fixture that uses one T12 14watt lamp. The ballast is bad, I believe, since it hums and the bulb flickers. The ballast is a GE 58G862 and the Phillips cross ref guide says this part will replace the GE. But I can see NO starters in the fixture (there is a capacitor across the AC input lines). So, will this ballast work without a starter? Is it truly a replacement for the GE 58G862?
Thanks

Answer:
Unfortunately we are unable to bring up a wiring diagram on your ballast; so cannot entirely answer your question. However, we do see that Grainger item 3JN61 is a good cross-reference to your ballast.
