We have one that was used as an air compressor enclosure exhaust fan. It is mounted on top of the enclosure, shaft vertical and fan blades above the motor. It had approximately 11,800 hours on it when it quit working. I had to disassemble the fan and motor so I could lubricate bearings that do not look like they are designed to be relubricated. Is there a better motor for this application.

    Answer:
That motor is not designed to be mounted vertically, it would be best for you to call into our Motors department and speak to a specailist regarding your application. 1-800-GRAINGER.

Is there a direct replacement motor with oil ports for this motor (MTA402)? This one doesn't last very long, shaft locks up after a couple of years

    Answer:
We do not at this time. The problem may be that the motor is in an area that is hot enough to harden the lubrication.
