N95 filters cannot be used with this adapter. The piggyback adapter is for the P100 low-profile filter only. In this particular mask there is no option to use the N95 standalone; they can only be used as prefilters. You could of course use the P100 for dust applications in place of the N95. It is just 99.97% efficient in filtering out particles that are 0.3 microns or larger rather than only 95%. Also, the P100 can be used particulates containing oil as well. The N95 would be for non-oil particulates only.
