Rated 5 out of 5 by Only bits I use for rough-ins I use these Big Hawg bits all the time for new construction as well as remodeling. They cut clean, leave much less of a mess, no fighting to get plug out, and cup is deep enough to fully go through a 2x4 without needing to chisel out the plug from the hole. Nails will dull the bits... Be careful. 1/2" 18v cordless drill will power through a 2x4 with a 2 9/16 bit. I have them sharpened about once a year. Only drawback is I cannot find a sharpening device/jig to professionally sharpen them myself. March 7, 2014
