Rated 5 out of 5 by 4reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Purchased after rapidly wearing out several lesser quality drills and seeing the 5yr warranty on the box. This drill is a workhorse and a staple in the shop. Looking at buying 2-3 more. We are a fabricating company and use this drill for drilling A36, A500, and A572 structural steels, stainless steels, and 6061T6 aluminum. Worth the higher price. Its a beast. June 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Built like a tank Incredibly sturdy. Excellent speed control. More than enough power (Use that side handle!). I've had mine about 10 years or so and have used it for just about everything on the farm at least once as well as more than a few large metal projects. Nothing stops it and nothing kills it. It is not the lightest drill around but I'll take the overall durability tradeoff anyday. May 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by the one to rule them all This is the benchmark against all drills ever made. It is a solid heavy ultra rugged tool, with awesomely smooth speed control. Perfect for shop/industrial use. My drill came with a Jacobs chuck, need I say more. It can take anything you can throw at it. I bought mine over 23 years ago and it is still running like the first day! December 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good blend of power, performance & price I use this drill everyday - especially when I need to bore large holes through heavy stock. This drill has plenty of power to get the job done. My only wish is that it came with the 25' cord. March 28, 2012

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the
following: Grainger part number 4Z371 is not designed to use an adjustable voltage supply as a power source. This drill is intended for direct A/C power supply through the 120 volt outlet. Any modification made, in an effort to control RPM, torque or speed may harm the motor. Please contact Grainger to determine other possible options for the rope winding drum.
