Rated 4 out of 5 by Great tool Great tool. Saves time and very easy to use once you learn how far to insert the pipe into the cutter. Have cut many hundreds of pieces so far and blades are still great shape. Only down side is you still need to ream as it tends to leave a burr inside. March 7, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Don't get it wet As a licensed plumber I use this tool on a regular basis. It is a great tubing cutter, unfortunately when cutting overhead pipes which always have some water in them, the tool gets wet and will not work for a few days until the electronic circuits dry out. I have sent it in for repairs twice ( Milwaukee does have a great warranty) and it has been returned in working condition, until it gets wet again. Bottom line, it is a great tool, but it would be perfect if it's internal circuity was waterproof. November 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by M12 Copper Tubing Cutter Now this is the tool, of the century! That every plumber wishes to get it, and I have it ha-ha! It's just can't get any better, lightweight, fork light, fast cut, clean cut, easy to operate, long lasting blade and battery, fast charging, and the main thing! Tight spaces, or close to the wall. No more scratching and beating hands against object just click it and press button, done. Use it as commercial and residential, electrical and plumbing, and heating systems. March 30, 2012

I am interested in using this cutter for materials other than copper (specifically, soft plastic-coated steel pipe). The overall diameter of the pipe is 28mm, but the inner steel core is only 1mm thick. Would this cutter be suitable to this application, or would the steel cause excessive wear on the blade?

1 Person needs an answerI have this question too

Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following: The cutting wheel on this item is designed for copper, and is not intended for use on steel in any way.
