Rated 5 out of 5 by Delivers more than promised Purchased the Milwaukee 2604-22 with 4.0 extended charge batteries partway through a deck renovation. This is the first of several such projects coming up and I knew the other drills I have weren't up to the task (not a slam against them; good value but overmatched for what I have planned). Did not expect the very long battery life burying screws into treated southern pine, nor the comfortable handle. Battery charge time is very acceptable in my opinion. I like the 4.0 batteries as they provide a nice counter-mass against the torque of the drill, which is very impressive. The limited auxiliary handle position is my only complaint and that is minor at most. Pros know this already but DIY'ers: please realize this is a seriously powerful drill and can really cause damage to your wrist if you are drilling or hammering and you snag the bit or screw. 725 in-lbs translated through approximately a 5" centerline distance between the bit or screw and the center of the handle is equal to roughly 145 lbs of force on your wrist/hand. Use the aux. handle if you are unsure. Just saying. Great product! September 14, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Compared to DeWalt - chose Milwaukee Best drill I've ever owned. My current DeWalt NiCd tool set needed new batteries and a replacement drill, so it was time to look at Lithium Ion. This drill has more power than the others I looked at based on my first-hand comparison; combined with the wide range of tools available, I was sold on Milwaukee. I'm not a fan of the side handle design. Sure it seems sturdy enough, but it's two positions only - both sticking sideways - meaning I can't rotate it down for storage - it must be removed. I think anyone who touts the hammerdrill function as a great thing has never used a rotary hammer. Sure, this will get the job done in a pinch if you're installing tapcons or something similar, but I wouldn't think of using this for anything larger than 1/4" anchors, much less anything that has to penetrate to the other side of a block, brick or concrete wall. I don't consider this a negative though, as hammerdrills aren't really designed for anything more than this. My DeWalt NiCd set served me well, but I just sold it all for Milwaukee Red Lithium. Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME TOOL! I have had every brand of cordless tool on the market, and the new FUEL Brushless system is by far the best hammerdrill out there. December 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hands Down Best Drill I don't only own one but I sell it to. In my store I sell Dewalt, Makita, and Milwaukee. It's a easy sell for me. Everything that someone has asked me to do with it have been doing it and more. I used to work for someone in stucco he wanted to get a new 1/2" corded to mix mud at first I told him to go with the big Makita 1/2" corded drill then I asked him if he wanted to try my Fuel and he did. I stopped by where he was working and the guys loved it. It only did two pails on one charge on the 3.0ah battery's but you could do it. When I compare it with the other makes it just has so much more compared to the other brand I sell, and haven't seen any come back for warranty except for one where the guy didn't, put the handle on and was holding it on the battery when drilling something and broke it in half because of so much torque. Rated 5 out of 5 by Well worth the money, lots of power This hammer drill has tons of power! Amazing run time never seen anything like it. Milwaukee did an awesome job on this tool. It is well balanced and easy to control. The grip is comfortable and the controls are easy to use. The hard case is tough and easy to store tools in. For a cordless tool it has lots of torque. The side handle is nice for high torque applications so I won't hurt my wrist. I have not dropped it yet but but it feels like it will hold up. I got this this with a third battery which is a bonus because I have the M18 fuel impact and M18 circular saw. Anyway, would definitly buy this tool again. Cannot wait till M12 fuel comes out. Rated 5 out of 5 by Top of the line in power This hammer drill is hands down the best in it's class and the power is unreal plus I couldn't believe the long run time when I was framing a add on to a house. I will not talk about the other drills out there that let me down like the dewalt and ridgid but I can honestly say ridgid is right behind Milwaukee but just not there. So keep up the great work and don't let the yellow catch up or the blue if you know what I mean. October 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great power in a small package Basically used this to replace my old, and huge 28v drill. Nice size, power, and good runtime. The charger does take a while, and the RPM's and IPM's are lower than some other drills on the market I tested. It takes noticably more time to drill through metal, masonry etc. In wood where torque is more important its great, but I'd really love to see more speed in future models and a 3 speed gearbox would be nice as well. Also the handle mount is only 90 or 180 degrees, its not the rotating type you find on most other drills. The grip is much impoved over older Milwaukee products, and the tool is well balanced with the 3 amp hour battery, with the smaller one it tends to be very nose heavy as the body is more compact and all the metal parts are in front of the trigger.
