Also, if the worker falls while decending, an automatic stop when his speed exceeds a certain threshold.
This is a 3-way system so there is a braking device that will deploy if a worker falls. There is no retreival system that would allow for the worker to descend and retrieve on their own. OSHA requires at least two people to perform confined space activities at all times: an entrant and an attendant (one of which can be a supervisor).
