Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great. The fuel lines are hooked up incorrectly. it would start up then stop and read misfire. Just switch the return and suction lines, it works like a champ. January 23, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by I had 2 the first on started and shut off and would not start blinking red light the sec one sent me the same thing smoked started and not working to this day and no call from anyone on it very dissatifed with this heater 2 and both do not work November 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is being used in a large, very cold aircraft hanger and gives off a tremendous amount of radiant heat. This is the only heater I have found that can handle this heating challenge. Very pleased with the value and quality. February 26, 2013

Answer:
Unfortunately there is no way to measure the "oil smell" coming from this unit, and it will require maintenance once or twice a heating season.
