Rated 3 out of 5 by Truth be told I looked at replacing the entire 8' strip light before finally having to purchase the ballast. The price point was well beyond what I thought was reasonable for yet another imported and perceived inferior product. The one positive thing to say is that it does work, but the caveat is that it has only been installed for less than a week as of this review. Time will tell the story here. August 8, 2014

According to the manufacturer, this ballast will work with (1) or (2) F96T8 single pin lamps.

Answer: 
Yes. I have it firing up 1 F96T8 lamp with single pin design. For that application you will simply cap off one blue lead as per the wiring diagram on the face of the ballast.
