Rated 5 out of 5 by Good pump for the price This is not my first Little Giant pump. I buy them because its a dependable pump. I dont have to clean them as much. They are not top shelf pumps but they will outlast any other pump in the same price range. I abuse them with mud and dirt and they do fine. June 19, 2012

Answer:
Hello Jim,
This is a great pump for a submersible application, however what you are asking it to do it will not. A better pump for that type of application is a "Self Priming Sprinkler Pump" Grainger part number, 3YU60 this pump also has Garden Hose adapters. This pump will also pump like you hooked it to a faucet, so it will supply a slip & slde or a Garden Sprinkler. I hope this answers your question.
Thanks for choosing Grainger Ask & Answer!

Answer:
Slip n slide would be easy. Garden hose length may be a bit much for this little guy. It would still spray but probably not as high as your normal home water pressure.

Hello,
This pump is filled with a Dielectric Oil, (basic Hydraulic Oil DTE 24) Grainger PN - 4ZF33. It is a Gallon you will only need about a cup 8 oz. The Oil from the manufacture is about $65.00, otherwise if you know someone who has bulk hydraulic oil like DTE 24 you need less than a quart. I hope this answers your question, thaks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!

I'm planning on setting this pump at the low point of my roof along side of a float switch which will activate at 1/4" depth of water. What I want to know is if the pump can reach down that far. If not, what height of water is left when it cannot reach any more to pump off the roof?

Answer:
Pump with screen will remove water to within 3/8”. Pump without screen (it will snap off by wedging a coin between the slots) will remove water to within 1/8 Inch. Do not let the unit run dry. It is designed to be cooled by pumping fluid. You may damage the seal and the motor may fail if the pump is allowed to run dry.
