The generator is a 14 Resa or 14 Resal air cooled engine. The dealer put a cold kit on the generator However, it still froze and would not start at 8degrees below zero. How can I make sure that this does not happen again. It comes on every Monday for twenty minutes running time to keep it in good running condition. However it froze up during subzero temperatures. Please let me know what to have done to the generator engine and parts to prevent it happening again. Your help would greatly appreciated . It is propane operated and the propane had nothing to do with the freeze problem. The tech said it was the motor was froze. Thanks!j

Answer:
There are several things that can cause this problem. The first thing is the condition of the battery. The 2nd thing is you may consider due to your climate, is a battery warmer. In low temperatures the cranking amps of any wet cell battery is much lower. I suggest that you call a Kohler dealer and ask them about this option to work in conjuction with the engine block heater that you currently employ.
