Rated 5 out of 5 by I Did not buy a Kennedy tool chest brand new I bought one used and I'm guessing it is 30 to 40 years old. It's the same style and numbers as this one so I feel I can give a pretty good review on the chest. 1- these tool chests are made of quality steel and are really strong and sound. 2- After cleaning it up I can see after all these years the brown wrinkle finish is still just like new no rust or pealing of the finish and it still has a shine to it. 3- the glides on the drawers need cleaning but still slide nicely and are still all in line with no binding. 4- the wheels are rolling just fine after putting some oil on them, and the rubber looks new. the locking system still works fine and you better be a strong person if your going to TRY to get into it, but you won't be able to due to the way it locks well I guess you could pick the lock on this old timer. But I see the new chests locking system is a round key like the ones used on soda machines so I do not think you can get past those kind of keys. 5- the box in it's self is still square and straight so their is no binding of the drawers. 6- this Kennedy tool chest is very heavy I do not know if the gauge of steel has changed I'm guessing it has not so their is some weight to the chest due to it being so well made. I have bought those red ones from other companys and they are so tinny sounding and are very tippy also this has weight and will stand up to well anything, like I said mine is old very old but looks VERY NEW AND WORKS LIKE NEW!! when I took out the drawers it reminds me of a safe if it only had a door on it I could use as a safe. like I said I bought mine used BUT IT LOOKS AND WORKS JUST LIKE IT IS A NEW CHEST. So I will be buying more Kennedy tool chest and boxes in the months to come!!! April 29, 2013
