Rated 2 out of 5 by spend a little more for an upgrade model Got my first Badger 5 with 1/2 HP in Nov. 2010!This first one died and the warranty replaced it hassle free in the home after less than 2 years! Now in Sept. 2014 less than 2 years after the original unit was replaced, this 2nd unit is dead! Time to get another replacement! September 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product It certainly has been reliable. The only reason I wrote 3 stars to ease of installation is because we had a professional plumber install ours. It would be nice if it were able to handle things like banana peels mango skins and tougher food items. December 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our first Badger disposer lasted 12 years This will be our second Badger garbage disposer. Our first Badger disposer lasted 12 years. We have not had any issues with the Badger product. We rarely have to use the key to unclog or unstop items that did not grind up properly. We are happy. December 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does the job. The Badger was relatively easy to install and does the job. I replaced another Badger that lasted 7 years. I wish it would have lasted longer because we are not that hard on them. December 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Easy to install. Made of quality materials and workmanship. Quiet operation. Does the job we were looking for and will buy this product again in the future. December 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is powerful This product is powerful and under expectation. The size is right for a family of 4. December 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Grinds up food. Works when I turn it on. Loud. It's a garbage disposal. Works as advertised. Had it for almost 18 months and it works the same as day 1. It's loud when it's on but I don't think they make quiet versions of these things. Haven't tried to grind a spoon or a Coke bottle in it and won't be trying anytime soon. December 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Noisy I had the same model it lasted only 5 years. Replaced it with the same make and model. Can't stand the noise it makes when grinding say a half lemon. Will try another brand when I can't take it any more!!! December 20, 2013

I had to purchase a new erator cause my old one of 20 yrs. leaked. this new one does not pull the water and food from the sink into the erator. I have to get my hands in the 'garbage' and force it down the drain. It is driving me INSANE. Please tell me this is NOT normal. Never had this problem with my old one. I would turn on the switch, and whatever was in the sink 'slurped' right down the ddrain!!! PLEASE HELP ME

Answer:
The owner’s manual for this unit states the waste is to be fed into the unit while it is running, it is not designed to draw out of the sink basin.
