Rated 5 out of 5 by Enough power for the house + clean power for the electronics Needed 10 kw to run the house. The contractor recommended this unit.It is easy to start. November 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product may be a little expensive but it is top of the line As a contractor I bought this item for all it's features, capabilities and it is OSHA approved which on state and federal jobs that I'm on you need to use certified generators. I think this is the best product on the market. March 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best portable system on the market I carefully reviewed auxillary power options for my home and settled quickly on Generac as the manufacturer of choice. After consideration of my particular needs and discussion with different electrical contractors, I elected the portable gasoline powered option. Weighing cost vs. convenience factors I felt the portable was a better choice over the standby whole house system. I had the contractor install a standby switch and effectively have the use of all the systems in my home I will need in the event of a power failure. The XG10000E provides ample power for all my needs and I am prepared to do some power management in the event of a prolonged outage in severely cold weather. The only downside is maintaining adequate gasoline for prolonged running but I felt that was manageable and worth the trade off for a more expensive whole house system in my area where propane is an expensive alternative, particularly given the relatively little time I will need the generator.
