Rated 5 out of 5 by Very quiet, powerful, relatively economical good investment I live in Louisiana approx 15 air miles from Gulf of Mexico Hurricaine-prone area the QT2524 has reliably run 24-7 when Hurricaine Gustav reared it's ugly head...this generator performed flawlessly and ran our entire house, Central AC and all appliances for 7 1/2 days we stopped it after 4 days to change engine oil & filt (very simple task) and cranked it up again; a very quiet well-made unit that I would recommend to anyone. I noticed the QT25 is no longer offered but the QT27 is avail. whichever QT series you buy, you won't be disappointed with the service! Note: this unit runs on natural gas & was installed in May of 2008 March 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent investment Best investment we've made. Unit is well sized and quiet. Does exactly what we need it to do. December 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by High end After listening to everybody say diesel is better, we installed this unit on a 3200sq beach house in Puerto Rico. Being so close to the sea, the aluminum enclosure is a must. Very quiet, smooth running, powers everything in the house with power to spare and best of all, we do not poison our neighbors with Diesel fumes! Generator is hooked up to a 120gal LP tank, has run 30 hrs already without a single problem. Best warranty, other units offer only one year. October 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Peace of mind! This generator just ran for 115 hours following Hurricane Isaac's overstayed welcomed in New Orleans. Best home investment I've made in a long, long time. Unit is powered by natural gas and ran all systems in a 3400 sq.ft. home plus pool. Strongly recommend this product. September 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A++ All The Way............ Probably THE BEST single investment we've made in our home thus far. From Start to finish the process was worry, hassle & trouble free.......HIGHLY Recommend the Quietsource Series........ November 23, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Everyone should have a backup generator Living in a Hurricane prone area I have been without power on numerous occassions for weeks at a time. I got tired of running cables thru my house for a portable generator. Now that I have a Generac I will never have that problem again and will be a haven during emergencies for my kids and grandkids. Installation was easy and I feel like I made a great investment. November 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great peace of mind I had this unit professionally installed by McGee Electric and they did a terrific job mounting it on a cement pad. The unit blends wells with the landscape. I couple this unit with propane fuel via an underground 500 gallon tank. I was without power for 18 hours during hurricane Irene. The generator ran flawlessly with two A/C units running, doing laundry with washer and electric dryer, oil burner and submersible well pump all going. I did not have to lift a finger to start or stop the unit. While the neighbors were struggling with getting their portables out ("used to be me") and refueling them every 2 1/2 to 3 hours just to power their refrigerators; I enjoyed having the whole house with power and watching a movie later on. I have the maintenance plan setup for this unit with McGee Electric so this unit will be giving peace of mind for many years to come. Thank you Generac. September 1, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Generator This generator is very easy to install and connect.Everything is where it should be. The only thing that needs to be easier to accomplish is the oil change: the oil takes for ever to drain and since there's no much space on top for the oil refill, it's easy to spill oil. Answer:
Recommended fuels should have a Btu content of at least 1,000 Btu's per cubic foot for natural gas; or at least 2,520 Btu's per cubic foot for LP gas. Ask the fuel supplier for the Btu content of the fuel.
