I am asking if this step down transformer will be suitable for my slot machine that uses a 120v to 24v transformer rated at 80 VA but seems to get very hot and lights tend to dim when i play this machine!? Would going from a 80va to a 100 va transformer help?

Answer:
Going to a 100va rated transformer will certainly give you additional capacity, however we cannot answer for how the internal wiring or circuitry would be effected; you would have to contact the manufacturer for that. Regarding the heat, most manufacturers do not list the heat output of the transformers; "so very hot" becomes a relative term to which we have no way to determine if another transformer would run cooler or more efficiently as a result.
