Rated 4 out of 5 by As expected from Friedrich This window unit is what you expect from Friedrich. Decent value for a reliable A/C. It works like a charm - no problems whatsoever. November 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by best a/c we've ever owned! This unit has proved to be the best a/c we've ever owned & we intend to buy another next spring for another space! November 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very satisfied with my product I am very pleased with this air conditioner as I find it quiet and the remote is handy to have and very easy to use.I also find it attractive (aesthetically) looking and the dehumidify function which is included in the Operation Mode Selector is very handy to have. First time I see this on an air conditioner. There is a small hum when fan is on high but very acceptable and nothing to complain about. For me it was very simple to install as I have sliding windows therefore it fit right in with no alterations needed. The first unit I received was quite banged up and this was due to transportation and probably why it was very noisy but brought it back to the dealer and they ordered another one for me.The second one had a small ding in it so all I ask of Friedrich is to perhaps put some foam or something around the unit in the carton to give the unit a little more protection. Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is a winner! This was purchased for use in New Orleans this summer and has been a lifesaver! The installation went smoothly and we hope we are as warm and snuggly this winter as we have been cool and comfy this summer, thanks to our Chill! October 30, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Happy with unit, except for vibrations I bought a CP08G10 3-4 months ago and overall I'm pretty happy with it. It cools our space very quickly and it appears to have high build quality -- except for some vibrations which occur on the low and medium fan settings. The vibrations are noisy and are somewhere inside the unit, so I don't think I can do anything about them. Also the unit is not easy to install compared to other window units, but once installed it appears to be very sturdy. Only issue was that I had to get a couple wooden blocks to put under the support braces, since our outside window sill is too low. October 10, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by I bought a 12k btu on 7-1-11. It broke down 15 months later. Unit was working fine but suddenly stopped cooling.Called dealer that I purchased it from. He said sorry, warranty expired and nothing he could do.I found the unit to be noisier than my old Panasonic which lasted 10 years. This unit was more expensive than GE, Frigidaire or Kenmore. You ould think that it would have lasted longer than 15 months. October 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent unit Cools quickly, is very quiet. The energy efficiency is excellent, and the aesthetic appeal is second to none compared to the other units in my home. September 8, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Problematic Window Installation! I bought my Friedrich A/C's specifically because of the advertised easy slide-out-slide-in installation. It was the exact OPPOSITE!I bought two, the CP10G10 and the CP12G10. Once I got them installed in my windows, they work very well. Fast cooling, good airflow adjustment, capacity as advertised...BUT... Window installation for both was a major headache! I admit that I worked alone, but it was poor design that was the problem. The easy slide-in-slide-out chassis was a big lie. It was like prying a snail out of its shell! Even with a helper it would have been a struggle to get the chassis out of the cover. The cover fits too tightly and there was binding on all four sides. I think the biggest flaw is a large lip on the bottom edge of the cover that you must lift and pry the chassis up and over in order to get it out. Why? To hold it in? There are already screws to secure the cover to the chassis after installation. And about these screws: They must be removed at the start, and that was no problem. But after sliding the chassis back in, re-alignment is near impossible to achieve. I could only get one screw out of four back in. Then there's the side curtains. Terrible! How could Friedrich skimp so badly on this? Poorly engineered holes (hammer and nail?), screws that won't fit, and for the screws that do fit you have to bend and fight the thing to get them in and then tape the gaps closed.Friedrich! You need to redesign the cover and chassis pan to make it even fairly easy to slide in and out. Why not make simple track type ridges on the bottom for good alignment and smooth movement. Get rid of that bottom lip. Put more clearance between cover and chassis so the squishy foam doesn't catch and get torn off. Get those screw holes remedied. And redesign the curtain attachments: Whats wrong with having them vertically slide into slots with flexible rubber gaskets for weathersealing? My $150 cheapo A/C even has that and works great! Jeez, for the money I paid...For window installation, I recommend getting a different brand or design. September 7, 2012
