The description and the name of this product indicate that this is drinking water safe but in the "Compliance and Restrictions" section it says that this product is not meant for use with human consumption.

all i need it for this pump to pump clean drinking water from a 55 gal barrel and pump the water up to 15 ft into another larger tank.

Can you confirm the max gal/min at fifteen ft and the amps (power needed)

I would like 5 gal/min --12vdc can you suggest another pump?

Answer: 
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following:

This pump will be able to transfer 2.9 gpm during operation. It will also require a power supply capable of feeding 4.4 amps at 12VDC. At this time Grainger does not have a 12 VDC pump certified for Potable water with a higher flow rate.
