We would like to get a pump with this kind of capacity that we can use for moving wine from small barrels (two 30 gallon) barrels to a 60 gallon barrel. Ideally, have a viariable speed to slow down when topping off. Would this pump be appropriate,or could you recommend something else?

Answer:
Hello John,
I guess the first question is do you have air to operate this pump, secondly are you looking to transfer occationaly or often? this pump is not "Food Grade Rated" but that being said if it is cleaned properly prior to use and cleaned after use and it for home making wine this will work. If youare expecting an FDA food inspection, this is not a pump you can use. A food grade pump & motor combo would be a 3PXJ9.
Pleas let us know if we can answer any other questions, thanks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!
