Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for kids These are great, especially because they're made with safety in mind. I love that the Ety kids 5 comes with additional sizes of earbuds, a detachable clip and a zippered pouch to safely carry your earphones around in.If you're a parent I strongly urge you to look into the Ety kids 5 headphones. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great when the kids are stuck for 11 hrs in the back seat I was first introduced to Etymotic about a decade ago when I received sculpted inner ear headphones from a friend. These are the sorts of monitors that musicians and performers wear. They’re gorgeous. The sound so clear, the fit so tight, I couldn’t wear them when running because it cut out all ambient noise. It was that experience that led me to trust Etymotic would know how to make quality headphones for kids. We know that kids shouldn’t listen to things at loud volumes, but if you just pop in stock earbuds or hand them your pair, you can’t monitor what’s happening once they have the device. They control the volume and they can be blasting it without your knowing.Read the rest of the review here: http://www.dad-camp.com/gear/choosing-right-headphones-for-kids/ September 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent sound at a reasonable price Excellent value in high quality sound. Not just for kids. But I do recommend a portable headphone amp with a line out from your music player. June 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by good protection for young ears! I bought these headphones as an inexpensive introduction to etymotic headphones. my workplace is noisy, but unfortunately so are the breakrooms! because of the auto volume limiting the volume was a little low for me, but I can imagine loud enough for kids at home or even in the car, but not loud enough to hurt there hearing even if they try to crank the volume. electromechanical design prevents too loud of a volume to be produced. overall sound quality is good, but good enough for most kids, not audiophile types like me, but good. nice noise isolation with plugs and cute little carrying case too! Rated 4 out of 5 by It is what it is.... I bought these because of my curiosity of the etymotic sound and because of the low price. I like to hear as many details in music as I possibly can without going broke trying to do so. I have a few other headphones by different makes and to me these are probably one of the most accurate sounding that I own. That said, to me they are very boring sounding. They tell me the story the way it is and add nothing to it. That's not a bad thing at all in my opinion. Just don't expect anything to be exciting about these as far as sound is concerned. I like to listen to all kinds of music with these especially acoustic music like jazz and classical. I wish they had more bass at times and then at other times I'm amazed at how much bass there is. Sounds strange I know but l put it this way. These won't sound like a club scene or a car with fifteens in the trunk at all but I won't say there's no bass at all. Its there. It's just accurate and even with the rest of the frequency range. The best part to me is when I use my eq and bump up the sub bass around 30hz. Then I just wish I could play them louder. I think the volume is plenty loud enough since I don't care for extremely loud music anymore. I think these are comfy once you find the right tips. Then there's fitting them for the best sound. I had pretty much nothing but treble until I got a proper fit and seal. I ended up ordering the large foam tips and to me the sound is as perfect as I believe was intended for these. I don't have uneven sound between left and right ears and the sound doesn't change when I open and close my mouth like to eat or yawn. Light weight and very durable so far. I like the angled jack and the accessories that came with these. I think the microphonics is a monster but it's not unbearable. Just annoying as with all other in ear phones I've owned. All in all I really like the phones and it's only made me more curious about the higher end models. Thank you Etymotic for caring about our hearing and the way we hear things. There are plenty of fun sounding headphones to listen to out there on the market but sometimes I just want accuracy and honesty and nothing else. Thanks again. May 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loving The Sound without the Noise! What makes the ETY Kids 3 a great purchase is the fact that the headset/earphones actually isolate the exterior noises which usually impeded with earphone/headset listening. Since the earphones effectively mute out background noise there is no real need to CRANK the music being played because it is not competing with exterior noise. The fact that the head set offers superior sound quality is a great other item that I should mention, clean, crisp and clear! Sound that is heard through the ETY•Kids earphones does not exceed safe levels, even at the maximum volume settings on portable tech devices kids can enjoy safely for up to 4 hours a day!Pittsburgh Frugal Mom May 11, 2013
