Rated 2 out of 5 by This product did not work well I found this product did not work as well as I expected. The batteries did not hold a charge. I expected more from this company. I was very disappointed in the performance of this product. August 31, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by cheap but slow and not for high capacity batteries This charger works fine for most AA, AAA batteries. I have some 10,000mah D cells and this charger only supports 2500 for D batteries. Also I have some 200mah 9V and this charger falls short at 175. for the batteries it supports, it takes anywhere from 12-14 hours to charge so its pretty slow. if you have the time and some batteries this charger supports then I guess its OK June 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Product works well This charger works great! The green lights on the charger aren't meant to tell you the batteries are done charging...they are meant to tell you the batteries are charging in the machine. In order to get the best use out of the charger check the user manual for charge times for each different type of battery. June 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the charger works perfect I have never had a problem with the charger.Works perfect,I have had it for going on 4 years...Love it May 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by universal value charger I purchased the energizer universal value charger. I purchased 4 c batteries and 2 d batteries. I put them in my daughters swing and ones they died I put them in the charger no lights came on. At the time I didn't no there was lights the next morning I took them out and put them in the swing they lasted about five minutes. I do not recommend this charger. They are not cheap and they don't work. I am now stuck with this because I am sure the store wont take it back without the box. March 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not work The LED charge status indicator lights do not work. Batteries barely charge. How can I return this product for replacement? March 9, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by no lights says it has statis light to indicate battery charge no lights on this unit will return to store for refund February 14, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Used for two months then quit Very angry like other user. I needed 4 D batteries for my baby's swing. Expensive charger and batteries. Everything worked good up until just recently. The charger started to act funny where the lights wouldn't light up when it was plugged in with the batteries in, but if you unplugged and plugged back in, it would work. NOT ANY MORE. I've barely used this thing and now i'm stuck with the batteries that I can't charge! Like the other user, I'm extremely disappointed and angry. I bought the charger at the large retailer that we all know around the country and now they don't carry it anymore. December 17, 2012

Answer:
The manufacturer states that this charger will shut off when batteries are charged; however, they do not state that this charger will do any kind of reconditioning. They do state that this charger is best suited for Energizer batteries.
