Rated 3 out of 5 by What the 10-year claim means Arno1998, you are both wrong and right. The packaging does in fact state (in big bold letters on the FRONT of the package): "Up to 10 year back-up battery ANS in AC powered smoke detectors". So for those using one of these 9 volts in their electric smoke detectors, it does NOT mean shelf life; it means consecutive use as a back-up battery. So you are absolutely wrong in that respect. But, yes, if one of the "10 year" batteries are being used as the PRIMARY battery in an item, then it is the SHELF life that is up to 10 years. July 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor performance, more costly than alkaline and lasts for 1/8 of the time of alkalines. Purchased 2 batteries for 2 anti- bark remedies. The batteries only lasted 3 weeks. One battery reads 4.8 vdc and the other reads 2.2 vdc. These batteries are junk.I would not recommend this brand of battery to anyone. June 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by the difference between 10 years shelf life and 10 years consecutive use For the people who are complaining about it not lasting 10 years its 10 years shelf life not 10 years of consecutive use thay last about 2 to 3 years longer on average June 3, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Piece of junk lasted 1 year!!!!! Piece of junk lasted 1 year!!!!!! It says lasts "up to 10 years!" Lasted one year in hard wired smoke detector and paid a small fortune for it!Would not buy again! April 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lasted only six months Last fall the regular battery in our smoke detector went dead after one year. I bought an Energizer Advanced Lithium battery with the thoughts that it would last several years, especially since it was twice the cost of regular batteries. Six months later the battery charge is gone. Last only 1/2 the life of a regular battery for twice the cost. Last one I buy. March 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lasted About a Year Like many other reviewers that had issues, I am another one of them. I bought the Lithium battery for a smoke detector, in hopes of lasting the same 10 year lifespan of the smoke detector. Yet, here I am replacing the battery after a year, but at 3 times the cost of a alkaline battery. January 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Absoluetly Worthless! I purchased 12 of these for a client's safety edge that required a lithium battery ... 5 days later the devices are beeping because the batteries are low again. These are totally worthless!!! December 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Advanced Lithium Longevity I used this battery for all my smoke detectors. Now I do not have to worry about changing it every year or battery acid leakage. Saves money in the long run. June 13, 2012
