Rated 4 out of 5 by Hard to crank I bought this saw a couple months ago, the couple times that I have used it it has been hard to crank the first time. I floods to the point gas runs out of it. After holding it up and letting the gas run out it will crank. Once it cranks, it will fire right up every time after that while using it. As for operation it runs like a dream, good weight and very aggressive. November 20, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Strong saw that's easy to start. The power company brought down a dead pine that was a danger to their lines. It's up to the property owner to clean it up. It was 36" across at the base and figured I needed a little something stronger than my Stihl 012. Researched various saws and decided the CS-590 with the features, price and warranty would be my best choice. Turned out to be the right choice, it made short order of that pine. One of my favorite features would be the compression relief button. A couple of pulls and you're on your way! Have only had it about a month so I can't speak of long term reliability, but we'll see. So far very satisfied and would recommend anyone looking for a saw in this range to check out the CS-590. November 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by a great saw for a great price I moved into a house with a wood stove four years ago. My last house had pellet heat, so I didn't have a chainsaw. For the past three years I've cut close to 6 cords a year with a used Husky 460. I wanted a Stihl, but even the used prices were crazy.Spring of '15 I picked up a CS-400 that had been returned to Home Depot. It was a good saw and a great price. I loved how easy it was to start, and the power such a small saw had. I must be hard on my saws though, as just about every time I used the CS-400 I bent the bar.I was buying another replacement bar when I noticed a CS-590 New in the box, marked down $100! After some quick searching on the web I found no bad reviews and a lot of raves. I got a brand new CS-590 for $300!I've cut 4+ cords of wood with the saw so far. I run a 20" bar on both of my saws. Running the CS-590 and the 460 side by side, I find the 590 easier to start. I tend to reach for the 590 first, and only put it down when the gas tank is empty. Power wise the 590 and 460 are equal, with a sharp chain they both cut through the same log just as fast. The only real surprise I found was the weight, the 460 is just a bit lighter, picking both saws up one after the other I don't nitice it. But after running a tankfull through the 590, I'll start cutting with the 460 and suddenly notice my arms and shoulders feel less strain. Some other comparisons, the Echo has a see through tank, great for keeping tabs on the fuel level, you have to open the tank to see the fuel level in the 460. THe echo also has a better oil pump for the chain, the Husky has trouble feeding enough oil to a 20" bar.Considering the price of a new Husqvarna 460 and the price of a CS-590, you can't go wrong with the Echo. Rated 5 out of 5 by The last saw you will buy THIS IS THE BEST SAW THAT MONEY CAN BUY WITH FEATURES FOUND ONLY BACK IN THE 70S LIKE METAL TOGGLE SWITCH easy start easy air filter cleaning and carburetor servicing .the best saw for the money due to the 5 year warranty ,the best in the industry simply follow easy guidelines use echo brand 2 cycle oil & bar lube premium fuel that's it , when choosing a chainsaw length of bar is not as important as cc (hp ) @58.9 that's almost 4 hp. If you can buy a better saw than buy it but Try to find another saw with a steel lined cylinder you can't .with power like a hot knife thru butter this saw is awesome November 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best chain saw I have ever owned! The Echo Timber Wolf makes a Stihl look like a waste of money!I am so glad I decided to try one out. This thing has a lot of power and very easy to start. Even my wife can start it!!!I have owned several brands in the past (Stihl, Husky, Poulan) due to the fact I heat my home and detached garage with wood, I need a good saw and this thing is great! I'm so impressed in the brand I will be looking at other Echo products in the near future. November 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful saw! Very impressed! I love this saw! I was deciding between offerings from Husqvarna, Stihl and Echo all in the $400 price range. The reviews I read, the warranty, and engine size helped me choose the CS 590.After use I can't believe how well it performs, with the 20'' & 24" bar its a hog, grab some throttle and let it eat ! The weight of the saw is a bit heavy but with all that power just let the weight of the saw do the work. That being said this is not a saw for all day use; felling and large bucking is what I use mine for. I have personally ran it against Stihl and Husky saws and it out performs every time. Im sure if I put this saw to test against professional saws it wont compete but its not professional so its not a fair fight. After my old 16" Poulan dies I'll be buying a smaller Echo saw for limbing.
