Rated 2 out of 5 by This thermometer works well but when it comes time to change the battery you might want to rethink your purchase. Changing the battery can test your patients. The plastic cover almost always binds which will cause you to strip out the head, no matter how careful you are. Once you do get the cover off getting the battery out can be fun, but not as much fun as getting the battery back in and making contact. I have about a dozen of these in use but I am switching to Grainger #5RNE8, solar powered. Less headache and cheaper too. June 29, 2013
