Answer: 
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following. First since this duct has a gasket in it you cannot use it for stove pipe just for conditioned air movement, on how to put it together you may have to adjust the pipe a little since it can get out of round after it has been shipped. Take a look at the crimped end of the pipe and the non-crimped end you are attempting to slide it into and make sure one is not egg shaped. Thank you for using Grainger Ask and Answer.
