Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Sharpener I have had this for awhile was a gift. I needed to sharpen my clippers to get ready forgardening. I always used a honing stone and dreaded this task because i would have to take the clippers apart to get a good sharp edge. When I saw my husband sharpening a blade with his i got mine out and tried it.Wow no more honing stone It did a fantastic job. Nice sharp edges. Now that it's out of the package I will be using it for more jobs. July 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Works fine, but tool gripper doesn't hold tools I bought this about 6 months ago, it worked ok for most purposes, just sometimes the bits would come loose and out. Used it yesterday with a cutting bit on wood, and after about 1/4in of cutting the bit would come out, every time. Very annoying. Would not recommend unless they fix this seemingly common issue. Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality This is the third one in three days. I was very happy to see this product in the store for the amount of features it had. I cut a 6 inch hole and tried swapping the circle cutter for the regular peace and it wouldn't come off. I tried spinning it off but the threaded part of the tool kept spinning with the attachment. So I went back to the store and got another one. Now with the new one I was using the regular cutter. I tried removing that one and it did the same thing. What I realized the second time it did it was that the plastic attachments threads melted to the dremel and due to this the plastic attachment would not come off and in fact would damage the dremel. I returned this one and looked for a different tool that had similer attachments that didn't have plastic attachments but there weren't any. I needed to finish the project I started so I am now on my third, I went ahead and got the 1 year warranty on it. I'm sure the people at the store are getting sick of seeing me. June 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Pleased We bought this unit from McMaster a couple of months back and have used it intermittently. Yesterday the power switch decided to get stuck in the “OFF” position. At least if it had gotten stuck in the “ON” position I could continue to use it by plugging it in and unplugging it. June 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointed I purchased the 4200 a few months ago, and was initially very pleased. However, after working on a few projects, the tool started working intermittently and then stopped altogether for no apparent reason. Following the included maintenance/trouble shooting guide didn't help. Given the short life span, it's not worth the money. May 29, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by When it works it's great Bought in June 2013 got through about 4-6 hours of work on a project and it just died. Had to finish with a competitors product and just got back to dealing with the failure. Based on other cOmments I'd guess it is the brushes. Looked for replacements but stores didn't have them and part no. Isn't in the manual. May 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dremel cares about customer satisfaction After reporting problems with the 4200, Dremel immediately contacted me about a replacement. I think they have solved the sticking brush problem that some of 4200 owners have experienced. If your 4200 stops running while under warranty, send it in for a replacement. Dremel does care about us getting the service we expect from one of their products.Except for the sticking brush, this has been a great tool. I've had my previous Dremel for about 30 years and expect this one to outlast me. May 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great power and versatility! I bought this primarily for hobby use, cutting plastic and small metal. It works fantastic! The flex shaft really helps to improve my work area and the quick change bit makes swapping tools a snap! April 10, 2014
