Rated 3 out of 5 by great tool but stopped working shortly after I loved this product when I first got it. I gained many new hobbies and became more handy than I ever thought I could be. shortly after I bought it though, it stopped working. I think it is a problem with the switch. sometimes It would take a couple tries before it would start up. Then it became progressively worse by dying on me while running. It seems very early for it to be acceptable for this to happen already as I have only owned it for a few short months. April 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Malfunctioning Switches I bought one of these to replace a model 7300 that would not hold a charge. I have several large breed dogs and all I use the tool for is grinding nails now and then. Well, it only took a couple months for the switch to stop working. You bang on it some and jiggle the switch and it eventually works. After a while, thinking this might be a one off, I bought another one. Well, after only a month or two I have the same issue with the second unit. Unbelievable for a tool that got very light use. March 10, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by LOVE IT!!...when it's working!! Got this as a Christnas gift 2014, didn't use it til summer of 2015 on some crafting mosaics and it was GREAT! Loved the power & speed of it, did an excellent job shaping the tile pieces. Then the switch started acting up...wouldn't turn on without wiggling & sliding it on & off several times but then would work fine until finally wouldn't turn on at all. Took it to local guy & he cleaned it up & oiled it & wala!!, worked great...for 3 times! Won't turn on again! AARRGGH! February 17, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bring back the 10.8 volt! We bought a few different models to replace our 10.8 volt dremels. I only have one working one left and it is wearing out.We have a pet grooming shop and use them on every dog. A total of 6. The smaller models are not powerful enough, cheap swithches and so, went back. Two of this model lasted about 2 weeks until the switches on both broke. Also it is large and hard to hold. Made for huge hands. The 12v is humongous. Please bring back the 10.8 volt, perfect size and just enough power. January 10, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Intermittently worked I noticed shortly after I bought it, it would not start occasionally. After a few uses, it refused to start at all. Just guessing the electronic part is defective. Looks like numerous others have experienced this. January 1, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointed:( I bought this to polish the jewelry I make. Obviously very light duty. I was so excited to finally own a Dremel and it worked perfectly and then it just didn't. It starts and then shuts off like what everyone else is saying. Totally shocked that this happened. Now I'm stuck with a dead Dremel and can't afford a replacement. Really upset :( December 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by overheats within 10 minutes I have previously used Dremel tools to cut through steel and was looking forward to the convenience of a cordless Dremel. I started working on my backyard steel doorframe, and after 10 minutes of use the Dremel shut off, as if overheating. It wasn't particularly hot to the touch, and I didn't apply extreme pressure - I can turn it back on, but if I reapply it to the frame, it will shut off after 10s or so.... very frustrating, I remembered better quality equipment from this company. Rated 1 out of 5 by great tool when it worked This was a Christmas gift, I only had a chance to use it on 4 projects and it quit charging. When I power it on it runs for a fraction of a second then quits working. October 31, 2015
