Rated 5 out of 5 by Picked it up at the Branch. The pump is smaller then I though it would be. Worked like a champ. Had to "prime" it with water before turning it on. We had it in the house on the second floor and used it to drain out my water heater. Ran a hose all the way outside. I didn't feel it was too loud. We had it sitting on the carpet so that is probably why it was not so loud. December 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by I am pleased for the application I am using the pump for. I hooked it up to run water thru hot water solar panels to a jaccussi. Below are my inputs:1. Pumps real good at 6ft of head2. I is rather loud (but I have it away from the house). Not good for a in-house application.3. You cannot start it dry. You have to have a loop that trapps water so the impeller stays wet. It was pulling water up 3 feet with no problem.3. It is pretty small and you can take the rubber feet off if you want to bolt it to something.4. I had old hose lying around and could hook to the pump then to the 1/2" pipe real easy. Gasoline?

Can this pump be used, safely, to transfer gasoline? I am looking for a pump to transfer gasoline from 55 gallon drums to my lawn mowers, garden tractors, & farm tractor.

Answer:
Hello,
To answer your question, no this does not run and shutoff automatically, there is not a pump like this made that can do that. The only pump we have with a sensor is the Sump Pump 2VAN7 .
