5JPF4 is suitable for this motor - just don't go over 12 amps

This motor is compatible and can be used with a speed control. A better explanation of what you mean by “load motor” would be necessary to provide an answer to that portion of the question. Thanks for using Grainger Ask & Answer.

Hi DECA,

The load motor means to use this motor as a generator. On a motor test stand, two motors are coupled with each other, and one works as motor while the other as load motor(generator).

Answer: 
The Dayton motor # 2M191 runs at 12.1 Amps, the 4X797 will only handle 10 Amps. The 5JPF4 is a speed control that will work with the 2M191.
