thinking about making a small drill press using this motor. Just trying to determine the torque output of this motor so I can select the proper gear reduction ratio.

Secondly, can any one point me to where I can get a proper speed controller for this motor.

Answer: 
You should have already received the performance curves to determine if this motor will meet the torque specifications that you must maintain. One speed control for this motor is our 5JJ60.
