Rated 2 out of 5 by Works well until it doesn't.This is our third one within a year. February 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wish there was a zero stars. It did not last one week. It had alot of moisture inside the control box to be a submersiblem pump. If you need a pump for a simple task, this is not it. HMMMMMM I wonder where it was made to fail so quickly? Come on Dayton, BRING IT BACK HOME! June 20, 2013

Answer:
When the water level gets up to 5.9" it will turn on and shut off at 1.38" of water. This is similar to a float switch. Yes, this is a pump with switch included.
