My washer discharges into a sewage ejector pump. In the event that the pump fails, waste may backflow up the washer discharge - it's the closest fixture upstream of the ejector pump and located only a few feet away. Will this product work as a check valve allowing washing machine discharge to flow through, but preventing any backup in the waste line from working it's way out the washing machine hookup box?

If not this one, is there an alternate product that will? My washer discharges into a recessed washer hookup box with an open discharge; i.e. the washer hose dumps in to the pipe in the box, but the washer is not hard-piped into the waste line.
