Rated 3 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by The speed regulation of this product was poor at best. I used it with Armature feedback and not with a tachometer. Almost no acceleration or deceleration time. At low speeds the product would surge 50% of the time. June 6, 2013

I have an older Dayton SCR speed controller, Model 2M171 in a non-NEMA housing. The FWD/REV switch is nearing the failure point. It seems to have an odd internal contact setup inside the switch which prevents me from using a standard replacement switch. Considering the high cost of replacing the complete unit, I would prefer to replace the switch only. Is a direct replacement available? If not, can I get the schematics or manual for the older style or perhaps a link to the manufacturer of the older unit?

That switch is available. Our parts number for that switch is 347294. That switch has a specially designed feature that prevents accidental reversing which may cause damage to the control or the motor. Give us a call so we can get that replacement switch to you. 1-800-Grainger

Answer:
Yes, it is the same just a different version number. That means that the vendor may have made some small change to the item but not a change significant enough that would affect or alter the function of the item.

Answer:
You can run the 180 vdc motor but not at full speed. 120 vac rectified will produce about 130 to 135 vdc. This will be the full speed of you motor. So yes the control will run the motor, but not at full speed, about 2/3 of full speed.
