Rated 4 out of 5 by 1reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5 by The unit is easy to install and and amazingly light. It can be wired from either end. Heats up quickly, tenants very happy with it. However the remote low voltage thermostat module cost twice as much as the heater so prepare to purchase the in-unit thermostat. December 2, 2012

Answer:
Hello. The manual for 3UG84 does not specify or require the installer to be a licensed electrician.

However, one should be familiar with wiring standards listed in the NEC and know wire identifcation and so on. It also depends on the skill level of the DIYER. If you have not worked extensively with electrical wiring, then it would be wise to hire an electrician because you or someone else could be injured or killed if improper wiring occurs.
