Hello,
All of the information we have including the instructions supplied with the unit, do not specify the communiction range. That seems to be true with all of them, I would assume that a reasonable distance if no more than 300 feet should sufice. These units will tell you if they are out of comminucation range.

Good day !
I have bought this unit thinking that my wood pellets stove would work with this unit. I wanted to replace a 12-24vac thermostat with wire.
after trying to install it, I have measured the voltage coming out from my unit and I have 16vac.
Can I use a external transfo to make it work.

Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following.

This thermostat is designed to be used with 24 VAC only. It will not function at 16 VAC.

when i hooked it up i have to hook the white wire from my furnace to the common . the only problem is the burner wont light ,, the fan runs and the air conditioning works but heat wont if i hook the white wire to the w terminal on thermostat nothing works,, any ideas pls help

There could be several issues with the wiring that is too difficult to cover in this format. I recommend calling in to our HVAC tech support team at 800-472-4643 when you are near the equipment.
