Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following.

This control is rated for residential humidifiers that draw smaller amounts of inductive amps. The common motor used on residential humidifiers usually draws one amp or less.

We are trying to keep a room between 30 and 40% humidity. We have a similar device that works fine in the low 30s, but it shuts off once the humidity drops below the lower limit which is the opposite of what we want to happen.

Part number 1UHG3 is a humidity control that will make contacts on humidity fall. You need a dehumidity control that will make contacts on humidity rise. You can use part number 1UHG2. Let us know if you have more questions by calling 800-472-4643.
