Rated 2 out of 5 by First motor did not work. Ordered a replacement - this one worked. Seemed a little pricey for an exhaust fan. January 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by The fan worked great for 5 seasons--as an attic exhaust fan. The the sleeve bearing seized! The bearings have no "oiler" thus I assume are oil-impregnated for "life." The life of mine seems a bit short. Let us hope there is a replacement motor. September 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Variable speed makes this fan good for different needs, ventilation, air circulation. April 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by It is a little bit noisy but works great. good choises for all contractors to get the job done on time although kind of expensive March 22, 2012

Answers

Answer:
This fan can be used with a thermostat. The thermostat must be a line voltage thermostat that is "close on temp rise" or "open on temp fall". You shoul also make sure the thermostat can handle the max amperage of the fan motor. One thermostat you can look at is a 2E158.

Answer:
There is not a way to determine the life of a motor for example because of the many variables involved: Voltage variation, service requirement, ambient temperature, ambient contamination, maintenance attention, just to name a few.
