Alternate Products

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good alternative when you need a fan with a little more capacity than package exhaust fans. Easy to fit a fabricated sleeve between two studs. and slide the fan outward to make it flush with the interior wall. A simple grille attached to the wall makes it invisible. February 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I'm happy so far with the fan. We bought it with a speed controller. When the fan is started at less than full speed, it has difficulty opening the shutters. That's a small negative, as you can run it fast then slow it down and the shutters stay open. On the plus side it is very quiet. I do recommend a very firm wall installation so that nothing rattles. Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following.

This fan cannot be ducted. It is not designed to handle the static pressure of a ducted system. You may want to look at our in-line fan options like part number 4YM41.

Answers

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following.

You will require a thermostat to turn the fan on/off by temperature. If you want to control the speed that will require a speed controller as well. I can offer a part number for the speed control, 1DGV1. The thermostat can be one of several options. I would recommend calling our HVAC tech team to discuss your application and needs for the thermostat. 800-472-4643

The manufacture does not offer a specific wind rating for this fan. It is possible the louvers will rattle if the strength and direction of the wind are right.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and have been advised by them of the following.
"The speed control is an accessory and does not need to be installed for the fan to operate properly".
I would recommend contacting your local Municipality for code rquirements. Venting a combustion gas into a space where people may come in contact with the gas can be a serious hazzard.
