Rated 4 out of 5 by 4reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great concept, poor quality, NOT variable speed compatible despite the claims on web site. Motor runs incredibly hot which can't possibly be a good thing- and fails utterly to run properly when paired with the 1DGV1 fan speed control; speed is all over the map, often increases by itself to full blast,(!!!!) impossible to regulate. If the motor were better quality and true variable speed, this would rate five stars as an excellent way to remove dust from a woodturning shop. Unfortunately, this particular unit is headed for the dumpster before the motor overheats completely and burns down my shop. Disappointing, to say the least. September 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product. Works as intended. Will definitely purchase again. July 3, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Easy to install. Works well. Motor lasts about 9 months. October 23, 2012

Answer:
Not really. The louvers do not fit together tightly on the sides so wind can (and does) pass through easilly when they're "closed". Rain is mostly kept outside.

Answer:
The picture of this fan is showing the exterior. This fan is designed to mount from the inside of the space. There is a ridge that surrounds the louvers, this ridge is made to mount in the wall with the louvers facing outward.

This does not include remote to control Exhaust fan.
Take a look at 1dgv1 for a remote for that unit.
