Rated 2 out of 5 by Replaced my cap in a Carrier 4 ton A/C. Worked great for 13 months (June 2011 to August 2012) then died.Only gave it 2 stars because it hung in there for a full year in record Houston Texas heat so its not junk.Replaced it with a Genteq (Proline) cap from Grainger which is the same as a GE. It is the same size as the GE cap that originally came with the unit at 2.5" vs 2" for the Dayton and it is made in Mexico instead of China. The original cap worked for 5 years so I hope the new one last that long.Bought two to have one for a backup. I've read that the "PCB free" capacitors they are now making don't last nearly as long as the toxic PCB filled caps. They are like light bulbs now and you never know how long they will last.Just something to get used to.I'm giving it a yes recommendation since it does work and will function for some period of time so don't pass it up of your in immediate need.
