Rated 5 out of 5 by These units really work. This will be my third purchase. Have two hooked up to hoses, saves having to empty hopper. Never had a problem, one I've had for over 2 years in a damp cellar. Put it there to cut down on moisture, so my wood furnace doesn't rust. Have recommended to several other farmers and they bought them for theirtack rooms. July 12, 2013

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following.

There is not a reset switch on this unit. You will want to make sure the water bucket is properly inserted in the unit. Also check that the unit is level and water is not flowing where it should not be and causing a false signal. If these do not work you can call HVAC tech support for further trouble shooting. 800-472-4643

Dayton model 58857-revA. Fan runs constantly, even though the room humidity is below the actual setting desired. It seems that just the fan is running not the compressor.

Answers

Answer:
Per the supplier, if the "Set Humidity" level is lower than the "Room Humidity" level: the compressor will start up and unit will start dehumidification. If the "Set Humidity" level is higher than the "Room Level"; the unit will not dehumidify. If you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-Grainger. I have two of these units. Initially they would drain out the hose. Now they don't. Hose is attached and it still dumps in the bucket. I have taken hose off and on several times. Still same results . HELP

Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following. It sounds the units are air locked. Make sure that the hose slopes away from the unit without any sharp bends or extended flat runs. Thank you for using Grainger Ask and Answer.

Answer:
In my research I have seen that in some units the fan continues to run to circulate the air. The dehumidifier mechanism shuts off when the moisture set level is reached but the fan stays on to circulate air. For this unit, I am not sure if that is the same but based on the other post it seems like it may be the case.
