Answer:
If you are purchasing our 4M206, you will need to purchase our item number 2MDV6 capacitor mentioned in the Required Accessories tab for that item. That capacitor will work in conjunction with your existing capacitor. If you would like more info on this, call 800-472-4643 and ask for the Motors Technical Team. They will be happy to answer all of your questions.

I have two different 1/3 HP PSC motors (Dayton and Emerson). Both have tripped their internal thermal cutout after about one hour of operation, with airflow of about 120 F through the condenser. I have measured the line voltage at 247 VAC using two different meters. Can that be part of my problem?

Answers

Answer:
Yes it may be. In a case like this, the motor is not able to dissipate the extra heat so the thermal trips. One solution would be to get a transformer, the other would be to get a motor with a higher amp rating (Higher HP also) and this may be enought to dissipate the extra heat that the motor is experienceing due to the higher voltage.

I need a replacment for the noisy fan motor on my Lennox model 12ACB48 A/C compressor. I want to know before ordering if the doulbe-flat shaft is correct and would like to avoid taking out the old motor just to have a look in advance. Can you tell me if the double-flat shaft motor will be correct or must I open up my system and have a look before ordering?

Answer:
1 or 2 flat shaft motors are interchangeable, they both will work for either one. I suggest that you write down all of the specs off of the motor nameplate and then give us a call to find that replacement. 1-800-Grainger.
