In the description it says "single speed reversible..." but it also says speed controllable. Does this mean I can raise or lower the speed as in high/medium/low? Thank you.

Answer:
With the proper resistive speed control (5nra4) you will be able to adjust the speed in a range from high to low. The switch will not be high-med-low but it will give you a much wider speed control range.
