Rated 5 out of 5 by I have had this fan for over 5 years now. I use it every night to sleep even in winter. I have had NO problems with it what so ever! I keep it oiled when it says to and keep the fan cleaned, which it is easy to do. I recommend this fan to everyone who asks me. I am thinking of buying another one just to keep as a replacement for the day it does die. That's how much I LOVE this fan. You can't go wrong if you one. May 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This fan is relative powerful when compare with similar products. Recommend to use in workplace! April 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Fans work until the cheap switches fail. NO REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. This is a $150 fan made useless by a $2 part. We have 5 and will not be buying any more Dayton products. February 12, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by ordered (n=4) of these fans. (n=2 of 4) burned out within 14 months. I would only suggest these fans for very light intermittent use - like at home to suppliment dry, filtered airconditioned ambient air July 29, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by These fans really push some air. They're balanced, quiet and have multiple speeds. We've been using these fans for the last 4+ years 7-10 hours a day 5-6 days a week. In an air-conditioned, very clean manufacturing plant, they're beginning to fail - so far, it's been 3 out of 10. The failures have been narrowed down to the sleeve bearings in the motor that end up running out of lubrication which causes the motor to overheat and hence shutting down the fan. Not real helpful when that happens, but we'll see about the other 7 that are still running strong. Also, on a minor note, the difference between each of the three speeds is hardly noticeable. If the low and medium speeds were lowered, I think there'd be more of a purpose to the speed selector switch.Since I feel that this failure is a trend with the Dayton model floor fans, I'm going to try to blend in the comparable "Airmaster" fan since they have ball bearings rather than sleeve. Either way, I wish there was a choice that didn't include the "Made in China" label.I'd only recommend this fan if it was to go in your garage or living room, assuming it won't be running more than a few hours at a time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fan! We use these in our industrial setting in several locations in the plant. They put out a great deal of air and have lasted without any problems for about 4 years so far running 24 hours a day, six days a week. We have purchased less costly (cheaply made) fans but they always failed within a short time usually less than 8 months so the economy just isn't there with the cheaper fans. Very pleased with this particular fan and would recommend serious consideration if you want one that lasts, is powerful and is quiet. May 30, 2012
