Per information provided by the supplier: Fire Block is used for all Class A materials, such as drapes, wall hangings, furniture, boxes and packing materials, fabrics and uniforms, even construction materials.

We are looking for a possible solution to a request received from a school main office. They would like to hang valances and we are looking into them having to be treated in order for them to be allowed to be hung. Does this spray satisfy the necessary code requirements for fire retardancy in the schools?

Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following: Product is tested to and meets the Flammability requirements of the ASTM E-84-95 and meets the requirements established under the NFPA 701 (test Method 1). However, you’re State, local municipality, school district and/or insurance provider may have additional requirements that you may be required to meet for such a product.

After 20 -30 washes, FR clothing looses some if not all fire resistant properties and is just a cotton shirt. If this product was sprayed on FR clothing, in a recommened application / manner, would this bring the FR rating back to NFPA fire protection standards?
