We have 2 of these motors on window units and 1 new one for back up. While cleaning one of the units with the installed motor, we noticed it had no different speeds. RPM was same on each wire connected. We checked the other unit with an installed motor and it worked fine, diferent RPM for each speed. tested the new motor we keep on hand for back up, it also had same speed no matter which wire was used. Are two of these motors defective or ?. We do have them wired correctly according to wiring diagram.

1 Person needs an answerI have this question too

This type of motor will show no difference in RPM when there is no loads on the shafts. The difference in the RPMs is only about 150 RPMs per speed change. That RPM change can only be verified with a tachometer. If the motor was defective, there would be more issues and symptoms than what was mentioned in the question.
