Rated 1 out of 5 by this 1/4 HP Century motor is not good. I bought two motors today. one of the motor has a very stiff shaft and couldn't even spin as something locked inside. the other one won't take any load. after i installed and turned on power, it ran less than one minute and stopped. I could hear the clutch open. I tried again and grab with hand and it stopped. October 9, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by This motor is very noisy! I installed it on my whole house attic fan. I could here the noise in my basement. Returned it and bought 4UE79 which is split phase, but could not find anything else compatible with my old motor. The new one is very quiet. All you here is the sound of fan turning.
