Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 39reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by great ski jacket I had this jacket for about 6 years. Great jacket to layer under with warmer clothing. I also use it to downhill and at the lake. Useful pockets. I hope they continue this jacket so I can buy a new one if this one ever wears out. Leave the hood as is, fits great when needed. January 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hood way too big I love this jacket but the hood is way too big. The drawstrings are useless (they're too stretchy). Thankfully the hood is detachable and I tossed it in a drawer. January 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket built for layering. This jacket holds up to the elements. I have had it for 6 years, I made the purchase when it was known as a J162 waterproof breathable jacket. The hood design is oversized to fit over hard hats and other head gear because it was built for the working individual. I live in Utah and use it pretty much year around. In the spring and fall it serves as my rain gear and in the winter I layer a fleece jacket under it and it becomes my winter parka. It's my favorite jacket Carhartt has made. January 12, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by The hood is way to big.. I live in sunset Utah where we get a bunch of rain and snow.. The jacket is amazing.. Rain and snow just roll off and I'm dry all day.. BUT!!! When it's cold and windy i put the hood up but it's so big it's like flying a kite on my head.. The pull strings on the hood are just for show the don't work.. I look like a cone head.!!!. I love the jacket but maybe it could use a little insulation for cold days as well.Could I trade it in for a smaller one ???? December 26, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the coat for stormy weather Received coat as a gift. Nice jacket but there is no way to secure the elastic string around the hood. There are adjusters on the bottom of the coat that have secure fasteners once you cinch it up but no cinch locks on hood. At first I blamed the fact it was made in China and it was a Chinese practical joke. I called Carhartt and found it to be just a design flaw. It works fairly ok if you are wearing a hat underneath, but hold onto it if you are in the wind. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket This was not the jacket I was looking for but stumbled over in the store. My wife knows I am picky and she insisted on the purchase when I said I liked it. It is a great jacket for cool weather and stands up to the heaviest rain. The hood must be designed to wear some other head gear under it or else it blocks your eyes but water and wind are not a problem when wearing this coat. I wish I had chaps made of the same material. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Rain Jacket My wife bought me the jacket for crane rigging. The material seems durable enough to last awhile. The jacket repels water nicely. I would advise getting a 1 size smaller than you would get for a shirt as they run large. I like the jacket over-sized as I will be wearing multiple layers in the winter. June 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This jacket rocks!! Simply the best. I am 57 years young, done tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan , and Horn of Africa (Somalia) and have been provided with the best gear available on the market and this jacket rivals all I have worn. I am a gear/outdoor clothing freak and first look for breathability , durability, and then style. This coat rocks it on all fronts. I am a walking billboard for Eddie Bauer First Ascent clothing and won't buy another "welded seam" construction. They just don't hold up to the washing. I have washed my shoreline jacket 100 times without one smidgen of wearing. My two year old namesake grandson will inherit this coat. I wish it was made in the US, but I can't knock the workmanship. Well done Carhartt design team. Keep incorporating the breathability element into your products and send them to Outside Magazine. You would have won the jacket category with this jacket!
